12/5/99 Back across the border into Georgia at Sadakhlo with Charlie requiring assistance on and off the motorcycle, (the likely pattern for the next few days) and the disintegrated road jarring his leg at each pothole. The most treacherous sections are where the manhole covers are missing in the middle of the road, we don't follow too closely behind other vehicles. With private enterprise gradually growing in both countries and a few western cars appearing on the road alongside the Russian models, mini skirts prevalent and well dressed individuals about, both countries seem to be slowly moving towards capitalism from socialism.

13/5/99 After last nights camp in a paddock just out of Tblisi we crossed into Azerbaijan near Lagodekhi.
