2005, 2006 and 2007's Photo Contests were very popular. The winning photos went into the HU Calendar, (2008 available here), and the calendars have proved to be very popular too! Photos from previous years will continue to be available in 2008 calendars in case you really like the photos from a particular year.

The contest is now an annual event, where you can showcase your best photos, and they can help inspire others to get on the road too. The new design for the website is coming along nicely, and we have a lot of new stuff in the works - one of them will be using the photos - they will appear randomly in the web pages, so everyone will get to enjoy almost ALL the photos submitted, not just the winners!

The best 13 photos will be used in the calendar, and those photographers will share equally in half the proceeds. Winners will also get a free 2009 calendar, and 1 year Gold Member status on the HUBB.

Details:

Send up to 6 photos, in high resolution jg or tif format using the form below.
Photos must clearly portray MOTORCYCLE Travel. The whole bike doesn't need to be in the picture, but it must be obvious that it's a motorcycle trip.
Copyright remains with the photographer, but Horizons Unlimited (HU) requires the right to:
- publish the photos on the Horizons Unlimited website as we see fit,
- in Horizons Unlimited DVD's, and
- in the Horizons Unlimited Travellers Calendar. If used in the Calendar, you will receive a portion of the proceeds.
- You will always get full credit for your photo wherever it's used.
For the contest entry, you can send any file size from 800x600 up. We PREFER full 2300x1800+ pics ready to use.

BUT to be a winner, so we can publish the calendar, you must have available at least 2300x1800 (2272 x 1731 will BARELY do) pixel or greater files, at a high jpg quality. Either dimension - or both can be larger!
Photos will be printed at 8.5 x 11 inches (A4/letter).

Note - maximum file size is 8mb, and files must be .jpg or .jpeg only.

To make admin easy - in other words make sure you get credit for your photo, and we label it correctly, Rename the file BEFORE you upload it to EXACTLY this format:

FirstName-LastName-1-Description-Location.jpg
FirstName-LastName-2-Description-Location.jpg

etc. File name can be up to 200 characters total. NO spaces in the file name please.

Photos not in the above format are lost in the midst of others improperly labelled, and we have no way to connect you to your photos. Sorry!

AFTER submitting this form:

You MUST receive a confirming email within a few minutes after the upload is finished. If you do not receive it within about ten minutes, there is a problem with your email address and you will NOT be entered in the contest. Don't forget to check in your "junk" or "spam" etc folders in your email program. If it still isn't there, resubmit the above form, (without uploading the picture again,) with the correct address.

NOTE: You will receive one email for each photo!

We accept no responsibility for lost, mislabelled, incorrectly uploaded etc pictures.

It will take a while for the file to upload - be patient and do NOT retry/resubmit unless you get an error message!
